Editing

Working as an editor, Molly’s aim is always to assist the writer in crafting the best piece possible. When analyzing and critiquing work, her highest priorities are to refine the author’s voice, ensure the audience understands the text, and make certain the piece achieves the author’s aim.

Having worked as an editor on academic papers (the doctoral candidate with whom Molly worked was awarded her diploma in March 2020 at Birmingham University, UK), fictional stories & scripts (such as The Fling LP, which had its New York City debut Summer 2019), cover letters/job applications, and CVs/resumes, Molly is confident in a variety of styles.

Molly began working as the editor for Greater Good Media’s Quechee Times quarterly newspaper under longtime editor-in-chief Jen MacMillen. Her first issue was published in August 2022.

Testimonials

“I always ask Molly to proofread any professional writing of mine. She always knows how to accurately communicate what I’m trying to say. All of her edits help make my writing clearer and more concise. She’s always willing to help and is timely with her edits. Molly never tries to change my writing style; instead, she highlights what is already there and improves it. I am so thankful to have her edits and suggestions.”

Caleb Dehne, Editing Client

“Molly has helped me in every part of the writing process, from advanced grammar to overall structure and clarity. Molly not only is professional and clear in her edits but she is also a joy to work with. Her editing skills were incredibly useful in the writing and development of my latest play and I plan to consult with her on any writing I do in the future. I highly recommend her services as an editor!”

Aaron Badilla, Playwright

“I would recommend Molly for anyone needing a copy editor or proof reader. She has helped me format my academic writing, including helping me think through my ideas and reformat my argument more coherently and concisely. She is also a good writer herself, and will help you improve your prose, sentence structure and composition. She is an excellent proofreader, with an attention to detail to grammatical and spelling errors, as well as format and style issues. She is warm and friendly to work with, and I found it easy to work with her online/on video chat without a need to meet in person.”

Rates

Projects can be done on an hourly or flat-fee basis.

For projects done on an hourly basis, my rates begin at 30.00/hour, and I will be able to give you a more specific quote upon learning more about your project.

The flat-fee for cover letters & resumes/CVs begins at 25.00 and is generally accurate for most cases except where extenuating circumstances require more in-depth work.

Projects with a lighter workload, such as proofreading or copyediting, will generally produce a smaller quote and projects requiring more extensive developmental work will produce a higher quote.

I am always willing to work with you to find a price that works for us both!
